Terms of Use

These terms explain the intended devotional and educational use of the platform and the boundaries around source status, media rights, browser-local features and external information.

1. Purpose

Personal devotional, cultural and educational reference

Om Saravana Bhava provides static devotional and educational material relating to Lord Murugan, Tamil literature, temples, festivals, pilgrimage, audio and learning. It is not a substitute for an official temple announcement, authoritative calendar, professional advice or emergency information.

2. Publication states

Not every listed work is a complete published text

Pages and records may be labelled published-source-linked, partial-reviewed, source-register, navigation, source-required, rights-review or similar. Users must not interpret a work’s presence in a directory as a claim that every verse, translation, commentary, image or recording is complete or verified.

3. Text, image and audio rights

Rights vary by item and edition

Ancient devotional works may coexist with modern editions, translations, commentary, typography, photography and recordings that have separate rights. Reuse beyond personal reference must follow the item’s stated source, licence, permission and attribution requirements. Unlabelled or unclear rights status should be treated as permission required.

4. Accuracy and corrections

Evidence-based corrections are welcomed

The project aims for accuracy but may contain incomplete, disputed or evolving information. A correction should identify the page, issue, proposed change and verifiable evidence. The platform may preserve prior release evidence even when a canonical public record is corrected.

Prepare correction

5. Temple, travel and calendar information

Confirm current operational information independently

Temple timings, festivals, travel access, closures, rituals and Panchangam dates can change. Confirm time-sensitive details with the relevant temple, official authority or authoritative calendar before travel or observance.

6. Browser-local features

Local data may be lost when browser storage is cleared

Notes, favourites, recent routes, collections and preferences may be stored only in the current browser profile. No cloud backup or account synchronisation is promised. Users should export supported data before clearing storage, changing browsers or devices.

7. External sources and links

External content remains under its publisher’s control

Links to source material, maps, official pages or third-party services do not transfer ownership or guarantee continued availability. Their terms, privacy practices and accuracy are governed by their respective providers.

8. Availability and changes

The platform may evolve while preserving canonical routes where practical

Features, routes, caches and content records may change as evidence improves. The project aims to preserve useful URLs through governed aliases and directories, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.

9. Respectful use

Do not misuse the platform or devotional material

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, impersonate an official authority, remove required attribution, falsely present illustrations as documentary evidence, or redistribute protected text, imagery or recordings without appropriate rights.
